• Self-reliant refers to a situation where target communities are capable of fulfilling their basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, education and health care and are able to make decisions.

• Healthy and equitable society refers to a group of people living together by accepting each other’s co-existence despite having different classes, castes and statuses. People have equal access to and control over resources and opportunities. Mutual understanding and harmony are the key components of the society.
