CDS is a non-profit making, non-governmental social development organization established in September 2001 under the Society Registration Act 1977 of Nepal. The organization has registered with District Administration Office (DAO), Ramechhap under the registration number 332/058/59 and also affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC) under affiliation number 12704/058/59 in September 2001.

The organization was founded by a group of professional, motivated and like-minded development workers, who for many years were engaged in the community development in Ramechhap. Presently, it is one of the major non-government organizations in Ramechhap in terms of programme diversification, geographic area coverage and organizational growth.

Since its establishment, CDS has been working in Ramechhap and its neighboring districts focusing on improvement of livelihood, health and sanitation, environment conservation, education, women empowerment, peace and governance. During more than 2 decades of successful operation, CDS has contributed in many aspects of development of the Ramechhap district. As a result, CDS has rewarded twice by District Development Committee as a best organization of the year.

During the period, CDS is working in sector of Livelihood, Health and Sanitation, Education, Renewable Energy, Child Protection, Shelter Reconstruction and Support and Disaster Risk Reduction for the past 22 years. Since its inception, CDS has been involved in implementing development projects in partnership with many INGOs, bilateral donors and government agencies.
